New attic storerooms for tenants in Huddinge
In recent years, a growing number of residents in the Rådsvägen neighbourhood of Huddinge have seen their old attic storerooms replaced with modern storage solutions. Here, Fabian Lennartzon, a project manager at Husab, fills us in on the background and benefits of the new storerooms.
Can you tell us how the project came about?
"Well, I work at Husab, a construction company with many large property owners as customers, and it all started when we submitted a tender to replace the attic storerooms in an apartment building in Huddinge owned by Heba Fastigheter. This was about two years ago. And the customer was so happy with the new storerooms from Axelent Safe-X and our work that we got to immediately continue with the other buildings in the Rådsvägen neighbourhood. We've now renovated the attic storerooms in five properties and entered a framework agreement for as many more. It'll take about another two years before all the residents have modern attic storerooms."
Why did Heba Fastigheter want to replace the old storerooms?
"When we visited in conjunction with the original procurement process, it was very apparent that nothing had been done with the attic spaces since the property was built in the middle of the last decade. The old storerooms were wooden framed with chicken-wire walls. First, that's a fire risk, and second, such a construction makes it very easy for unwelcome visitors to break in. So it was easy to understand why they wanted to replace them. It was simply a case of pulling down the old storerooms and recycling the materials."
Why did you choose Axelent Safe-X to supply the new storerooms?
"I've been at Husab for seven years now, and we've always used Axelent Safe-X as our storeroom solution supplier. Their storerooms are easy to adapt and we have a great partnership that works very well. Projects begin with them coming to measure the storage spaces, and then together we plan the layouts. And when it comes to delivery and assembly, they're extremely reliable, which is important when you have a project with many different steps to be coordinated with small margins."
Finally, how do the new storerooms benefit tenants?
"The storerooms from Axelent Safe-X have provided residents with a secure and fireproof storage solution. They're easy to access and use, and they also make the attic look a lot nicer than it did before. The old storerooms were mostly half-hearted efforts, quite often impractical and poorly constructed. But the new storerooms have a much more well-considered design. I think residents feel that their attic spaces are finally in order."
